Nyakahanga Hospital celebrated Nyakahanga Day 4 february2023 in the fields of Nyakahanga Hospital. It is the tradition for workers of Nyakahanga hospital to evaluate their performance every year. This includes comforting each other, give each other hopes, eating together, drinking and dancing ngoma together,playing music and congratulate each other. This celebration was attended by two bishops. Bishop Dr Bensoni Bagonza of Karagwe Diocese and Bishop Jackson Mushendwa of Kigoma West Diocese. Also it was attended by invited guests, government officials and religious leaders. The celebration started with Church service which was conducted by Pastor Texavier Biita. The word of God came from Luke 17: 5 – 10, as we were reflecting the word of God Pastor Biita said, when doing our works we should put God first and ask him to grant us more power and energy when serving his people. We should do his work without having any kind of regrets and feeling tired. Also he insisted that we should not put our needs first before the people we serve instead we should fill responsible in whatever we do and be responsible in serving God because, the word of God from Luke 17:10 says “Thus you also when you may have done all the things having been commanded you, say, we are unworthy servants we have done that which we were bound to do. This ceremony included three events; saying goodbye to retirees, saying goodbye to the past Hospital Administrator Pastor Jeremiah Rugimbana and welcome the new Hospital Administrator Pastor Sevelin Malozi. Total of 14 workers who have retired and their families were invited to attend the ceremony. When giving out the speech,the doctor in charge of the hospital Dr Furaha Kahindo mentioned different challenges facing the hospital which are ; difficulties in running the hospital, shortage of staff in all departments ( especially Anaesthesia) and lack of Ambulance. The guest of honor Bishop, Dr Benson Bagonza as he was answering the speech given by doctor in charge, he congratulated the hospital Management and hospital staff for their good work of serving and treating well patients, despite of the challenges that they are facing, he encouraged them to continue doing God’s work with all their heart. Either the Bishop said that,the challenge of not having an ambulance he promised to work on it. The guestof honor Bishop, Dr Benson Bagonza gave gifts and certificates to 14 retired staff and other staffs. The name of retired staffs are: Stilery Tibamanya, Julius Nshekanabo, Consolata Zimulinda, Sylivatus Byakutaga, Azades Chinda, Helena Mwombeki, Jumapili Bayona, Florida Kachecheba, Heronimo Rwenyemamu,Lucy Limilabo, Leticia Kahatano, Georgina Israel,Pelina Kafanabo,Erica Mutelani. Either he congratulated them for reaching that stage and wished them happy life.
