Health insurance unit was established on December 2021 having a capital of medicine and reagents of 40,000,000/= TSH and later it was added with 10,000,000/=TSH which stay in the circulation (revolving). Before establishing this unit average claims per month were 26,788,000.00 Tsh. Ever since this unit was established the average claims have been increasing from 47,040,100.00 TSH December 2021 up to mil. 78,104,585.00 December 2022. The big challenge is deductions done by NHIF each month due to different reasons which up to now total of Tsh. 44,883,590.00 has been deducted. This unit has been of big help to the hospital because the income that has been resulting from health insurance is being returned to the hospital to help with different needs so as to run the hospital such as buying medicine, paying salary to workers etc. REPORT FROM FINANCE DEPARTMENT 2023
